What is a Plan of Management
A Plan of Management is an overarching document that guides the use and management of community land. It outlines what the community values about the place, its current and future uses and how it will be managed, maintained and improved in future.
Why does this land need a new Plan of Management?
The Local Government Act 1993 and Crown Land Management Act 2016 mandate that a Plan of Management must be prepared for all community land.
Following the introduction of the Crown Land Management Act 2016, the existing Rosherville Reserve and Chinamans Beach Plan of Management no longer meets legislative requirements for plans of management. . To ensure compliance with statutory requirements and to respond to Mosman's changing recreational needs, Council has commenced the preparation of a new plan of management.
The study area for the new Rosherville Reserve and Chinamans Beach Plan of Management includes Crown land which is managed by Council (Chinamans Beach) and Council owned community land (Rosherville Reserve).
