Consultation has concluded

Council resolved to place three draft Development Control Plans and an amendment to the Policy for Stormwater Management in Mosman on public exhibition.

Mosman's Development Control Plans (DCPs) provide detailed planning and design controls to supplement the provisions of Mosman Local Environmental Plan 2012. The three DCPs are:

  • Mosman Residential DCP (RDCP)
  • Mosman Business Centres DCP (BCDCP)
  • Open Space and Infrastructure DCP (OSIDCP)

Council is proposing the first of a series of sustainability amendments that are intended to be made to Mosman's Development Control Plans (DCPs). This amendment is in response to actions within the Mosman Local Strategic Planning Statement (LSPS) and Climate Action Plan – Mitigation Strategy that require Council to review the DCPs to strengthen sustainability measures.

Sustainability amendments

Council is proposing to amend Section 5.10 and Section 5.13 of the Residential DCP, Section 6.11 and Section 6.13 of the Business Centres DCP and Section 4.11 and Section 4.13 of the Open Space and Infrastructure DCP to:

1. Introduce measures to treat stormwater quality on-site before stormwater enters Sydney Harbour, waterways, bushland and drainage systems. This will apply to any development involving three or more dwellings or any non-residential development (excluding development contained within the existing building envelope)

2. Introduce Electric Vehicle charging infrastructure requirements for new residential, mixed use and non-residential developments.

Council is also proposing to amend the Policy for Stormwater Management in Mosman to:

3. Introduce new water quality provisions to treat stormwater quality on-site before stormwater enters Sydney Harbour, waterways, bushland and drainage systems. This requirement will apply to any development involving three or more dwellings or any non-residential development (excluding development contained within the existing building envelope).

Mosman's DCPs do not currently include controls for electric vehicle charging nor require new development to treat the quality of stormwater runoff.
