Consultation has concluded

Mosmans DCPs

Council is proposing to amend Mosman's Development Control Plans (DCPs) to remove Part 3 ‘Notification of Applications’ and to make a series of housekeeping amendments. We are seeking community input on the proposed amendments until 21 May 2020.

The review of the DCPs follows the adoption of our Community Participation Plan (CPP) called “Involving the Community in Planning” which was adopted by Council on 12 November 2019 and published on the NSW Planning Portal. The CPP explains how and when Council will undertake community participation when exercising its planning functions, including in relation to development applications, amendments to the Local Environment Plan, draft DCPs and draft Contribution Plans.

The notification section of Mosman’s DCPs detail notification requirements for development applications. Following the adoption of the CPP, the notification sections of Council’s DCPs have become redundant.

To remove duplication and to simplify Council’s planning documents, it is proposed that the ‘Part 3 Notification of Applications’ sections of all Mosman’s DCPs be removed entirely. In addition a number of other minor housekeeping amendments to the DCPs are proposed that would to ensure their currency with NSW planning legislation, and to correct errors, omissions or provide clarity of content. These minor amendments include updating references to the recently updated Planning for Bushfire Protection 2019 policy and clarification on when works to significant rockfaces may be undertaken.

The proposed amendments and supporting documentation are on public exhibition from 23 April to 21 May 2020. A mark-up of the proposed changes can be viewed in the documents section of this webpage.
