Architectural consultants Francis-Jones Morehen Thorp (FJMT) have been appointed to undertake the next stage of work investigating redevelopment of the Mosman Civic Centre Site to provide improved civic and community facilities.

As you may recall, a Needs Analysis undertaken last year established the need for improved civic and community facilities on the Site to meet current and future demands. Council’s vision to redevelop the site was publicly exhibited during February-March this year to obtain community feedback, and on 5 May 2015, Council resolved that more detailed consideration of development options for the Site be undertaken.

As part of this next stage of work, FJMT will consider two main options for the Mosman Civic Centre Site – partial refurbishment/redevelopment vs complete redevelopment. Site planning and design, staging, traffic analysis and financial analysis will be considered.

FJMT have considerable experience in the architectural design of similar civic projects in NSW and interstate, including the Surry Hills Library and Community Centre, The Concourse at Chatswood, and Dee Why PCYC (under construction), and have won awards for their design excellence.

FJMT will commence this work in early September, concluding in late 2015/early 2016.
